Thanks for the video. It covered all the points I was interested in knowing about, especially size and weight of the new controller.
Improved wind resistance. 4k videos. OcuSync 2.0. What's not to love???
The Mini 2 was okay in my book but the latest update made it so much better. Still waiting for ActiveTrack and Smart Controller support if possible please!
Still loving my Mini 2!
i cant agree more with you i have the Mavic mini and the Mini 2 and im really happy with both and yes big huge improvement on the Mini 2 and thats awesome and i have a friend wanting to by the Mini 2 but im want to encourage him to by the Mavic Mini there is a huge differents of price of $150 Canadian , im really not an experts in drones photography ect, in the unexperienced eye there's not much of differents ,but that being said the Mini 3 will have much more most likely obstacle avoidants ect cant wait to buy
I'm not sure if you're aware but the Mini 2 just received a firmware update that allows it to film in 2.7k 60fps.
Personally I love this new controller, it feels so much nicer to me than the Mini 1.
As ever Steve, a great review that I didn’t want to end!
Thanks 4 the update👍
I love the mini 2, I never owned the mini so nice to see a comparison.
Thanks
I love my DJI mini 2. Takes awesome video and has great range. I just made a few videos with it over my properties
Great review.
Love it
That's my next investment 👌
Wow, this is great! I really like your review and the comparison to Mini 1. Having RAW images and better colors without magenta tint is already a huge improvement for me 🙂
Great review 👍☺️
It's not an update its a totally
new different drone.
Thank you for your exellent review, I have a mini and now I'm going to get the Mini 2 because of the Ocusync. Thank you
Looking forward to your posts this year. Happy New Year! Be successful!
awesome review, subscribed!
That shot a 0:07 was painful to see! The gimbal protector slides on to the gimbal to lock it into a specific position, and it looks like you just crammed it in there. Not good for long term protection of the gimbal! Anyway, great review! I can’t wait for the comparability with the Smart Remote! I like this new controller, but I’ve always hated using my phone! When I bought my phantom for pro I got the controller with a built-in display, and when I bought my Mavic 2 Pro and zoom, I also bought the smart controller with the built-in display. I absolutely love it! It’s only shortfall, is that it cannot bind with multiple drones simultaneously. It would be nice to be able to pull out the controller tell it which drone you’re flying and then fly the drone. Unfortunately to use it with more than one drone you have to continually de-sync and re-sync with the one you want to fly. It’s pretty sad considering that your average RC controller coming in at less than $200 can usually connect with several hundred aircraft and store their profiles.
main improvement is range occusync.i have magic air.did think of getting mini 2 just for range then again my mavic goes far as you can see well further as you supposed keep drone in line of sight
Hoping theyll add the zoom Feature into photo Mode as well, doubt that'd be hard to do really 😅
Great review! I upgraded from the Mini 1 and it's just great. The DNG is big for me, for example I've been able to almost eliminate the blown-out bright areas in clouds and such, which drove me nuts with the DJI JPEG files. I love the zippiness the new Mini 2 has. Way nicer drone and controller.
Very nice review.
Such a great and straight to the point review while implementing your personal experience and opinions. Really well done Steve and I think I will be upgrading my Mavic mini soon
Superb review Steve. Your remarks are very well thought out, and comprehensive. I enjoyed it.
Thinking of purchasing mini 2 never owned, never flew a drone but going for the under 250g avoid restrictions and extra hassle. I do have a question however regarding the remote controller. I have moto g8 power android phone its about 6.4 inches or 162.56mm depending on whether you work better in the metric system and I want to know whether this to big to fit? I did see there was an accessory where larger devices such as I phones & tablets would be accommodated for around $27 or £20.
Also I was hoping to have a drone in this class that as follow me and avoidance technology does anybody know what might match this without being a lot more expensive?
Nice work, I appreciated the detailed explanation of the difference between these 2 drones.
Thank you so much for the video!
There is reason for the the drone being under released weight.
There is a reason DJI made the batteries ports are compatible with Mavic Mini and the Mini 2.
There is a reason that DJI included a payload function buried in the control menu.
DJI will be releasing accessories that connect through the battery port.
Why the battery port ? To maintain its forward facing flight profile to reduce any drag.
Just looking at the back of the drone gives me that idea of connections being added this way.
What will be the first accessory?
I believe that DJI left almost 10 grams off the 250 gram weight class of the Mini 2 to be able to add a slimmed down forward facing object avoidance system that flips up like an antenna. So it it stills fits in the same bag.
Yes it will weight less than 10 grams just because DJI can do technological magic.
But expect to spend over $100 for this accessory.
So being that the batteries ports are compatible, the Mavic Mini will be able to use this accessory as well but be slightly over weight unfortunately. Unless you buy the Mini 2 batteries. This accessory being a counter-weight on the back with fix the gimbal up and down wobble from its forward pitch.
Excellent Review !!
Great review Steve. I pretty much agree with everything you said. The latest app and firmware upgrade that bought photo zoom and higher frame rates for video just makes this even a better drone. I upgraded from the Mini 1, and just the improved performance in the wind was worth the price of admission.
Great update Steve, good to hear that DJI has improved that connection issues. Flying in Toronto I can't count the number of times I've lost connection and figured it was all over. I have only had the Mini since the summer, now how do I convince my wife that I need a new one. Like # 218!!!
I'm thinking go upgrading. Nice drone it seems.
Good job, greetings from the UK !
Very nice video, my sincere congratulations!
Nice video…nice family!!! Congratulations!!!
